Tibetan incense is used in Tibetan Medicine for its healing properties along with its unique distractive aroma. It is speculated that during the 8th Century, Guru Padmasambhava hid the terma teachings on the usage of incense preparation and burning. These texts where later discovered and the practice was adopted by all aspects of Tibetan Buddhism that we now see today. Over the years new formulas and advancements have come to light with both old and new methods still practised by practitioners of Tibetan Medicine today.
